I do agree that the combat was fairly simplistic in Oblivion, but the tedious nature of it all made it (ironically) enjoyable. Working on an enemy for a few minutes is so much more satisfying mowing down enemies in a hack-n-slash.
However, I am always up for improvements. :)
That's the question I am wondering about also. If it is on a new engine, I really am looking forward to what 343 Industries can bring to the table.
I can't help but smiling every time I see footage from this game.
I got burned with the DS this generation. Nintendo massively redid the DS with the introduction of the DS Lite only a year and a half later. I am going to wait for Nintendo to hopefully improve the 3DS's battery life before I plunk down $250.
If the Vita will be releasing with games like Uncharted as launch titles then Sony will likely have my money when the Vita comes out.
8 inch screen ?!? I highly doubt that. The controllers would end up costing a considerable portion of the console. When controllers cost more than a game there is something wrong.
Vanillaware is win for me also.
While I never have really gotten into LittleBigPlanet, I can see myself enjoying it more on a handheld. As macky301 pointed out if we could change the physics of the game a whole lot of levels would be much more enjoyable. I don't particularly like the floaty mechanics Media Molecule has chosen to use.
Regardless if they are good or not Microsoft needs the games this year not next if they want the Kinect to be more than a peripheral for Dance Central 2.
Gears of War and Halo 4 were the only other announcements that I thought were noteworthy, unless you enjoy games such Kinect Sesame Street or Disneyland...
This is one of my most anticipated games. Can't wait til I get off work to watch some footage. Last year's trailer had the game already sold in my book.
Same hear. I really enjoyed the preview of the Rayman Origins last year. I especially like the music they had to go with the trailer. 2D games ftw.
This game is simply delightful to look at. thatgamecompany has managed to always create games that help relax and unwind. I am looking forward to adding Journey to Cloud, Flow, and Flower.
People just don't want a new Dante. Nothing I have seen so far makes me like the new one. Right now they are fighting an uphill battle with many people due to that one issue. A redesign that drastic is hard to sell. The new Lara Croft doesn't look that much different aside from some of her "features" being reduced. New Dante is some emo meth addict. They have work to make me like him.
I am wondering if the voice controls will also be present in the PS3 version of Mass Effect. I don't see any technical reason why they can't be implemented.
Fist Bump!
I love E3.
Don't assume Halo 4 will be using the same engine as Halo 3. Heck it's being developed by a new team even. Let's all argue...er I mean discuss AFTER we see some gameplay in the future.
Arghh... the rails. Sure there may be more games now, but everything is on rails!
I might be alone in my opinion, but I really enjoyed ODST. I really enjoyed the open world approach that Bungie took with that game.
Back when Halo:CE was the only game in the series, the Halo universe was much more mysterious. Due to that it was more interesting and the epic-ness wasn't so much forced. Halo 2 and 3 lost a bit of the wonder by trying to make them epic. Hopefully Halo 4 will recapture a bit of what HALO:CE had.
Hopefully Nintendo will redeem themselves tomorrow. If the rumors have any merit we just might get a proper console from them tomorrow. I'll be delighted if Nintendo announces a new ip aside from their tried-and-true series. As for Microsoft--diversify. Until they embrace that philosophy, I will continue to be critical of them even if I enjoy Halo or Gears of War.
Not so much of a bombshell, but I am looking forward to the new setting of HALO 4. It looks like there will be a lot more of the Forerunner stuff now. Sigh... only another year and a half. E3 is such a cruel tease to me every summer.
Shoot! I am going to have to buy the Ocarina of Time without owning the 3DS to get that soundtrack now. Free Four Swords is a nice touch also.
